Alt Blk Era - Heartbreakers

Having seen Alt Blk Era absolutely smash their album release show for Banquet Records up in Kingston a few months ago, I'd been really looking forward to this show!

These sisters hail from Nottingham and have this incredible skill of blending monstrous dance beats with heavy riffs!

Their music has won them Mobo awards and notability to be a band to watch from the likes of BBC Radio!

The show at Heartbreakers had been sold out LONG before it rolled round and had such a great mixed crowd!

They ran the album from start to finish, telling stories of how all of the songs came to be whilst also hyping up the crowd! A huge nod to the fact they chose to have safe gigs for women at their crowd and made a point of having a "catwalk" in the middle of their crowd for one of their songs! A departure from the mosh pit you may expect, but a beautiful site with everyone who may normally be a bit nervous to get involved and a rapturously supportive crowd!

A great performance from these sisters and definitely a band I would go see again! If you're heading to any more of the tour dates you're in for a treat and if they're on your radar for festival season this year.... Definitely go see them! These sisters are gonna go far! Making waves at such a young age with such intelligence and musical talent, I believe we will see big things from them in the years to come!
